Dry mouth

The normal average daily saliva production is between 500-1000 ml per day. When too little saliva is produced, this is called dryness of the mouth or hyposalivation (hypo = too little). When someone has a dry feeling in the mouth, it is called xerostomia. Dry mouth is not a disease in itself, but an irritating condition with various reasons. In many cases, this is ignored, as you do not notice the problem.
