If you are missing a tooth, it is possible to make a bridge to fill the empty space between your teeth. A bridge consists of a few crowns fastened together. The bridge is attached to two or more teeth (pillars). These are teeth or molars on either side of the missing tooth or molar. The bridge is made with two or more crowns that fit exactly on these pillar-teeth. Between the crowns there is an artificial tooth to fill the gap of the lost natural tooth.

If several teeth are missing, a bridge can be placed on implants. An implant is an artificial root on which the bridge will rest.
