Tooth extraction (pulling)

Tooth extraction (pulling)

Good oral hygiene is very important to keep the teeth in a good and healthy condition. It may, however, sometimes be necessary to remove a tooth. If a tooth can no longer be saved, it just gives you discomfort, pain, hypersensitivity and bad breath. The pulling of teeth sounds worse than it is. We can pull the teeth or molars by means of a painless treatment under anaesthetic. In many cases no oral surgery is necessary. We can remove most teeth in the dental practice.

Extracting the wisdom teeth

Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to appear, by the time you have reached your adulthood. Not everyone gets all wisdom teeth. Wisdom teeth can give you problems, so it is good to decide in time if they should be removed or not.

When to extract the wisdom teeth?

Wisdom tooth extraction is often done as a prevention between the ages of 17 to 25. Wisdom teeth can give you problems later in life. Wisdom teeth are difficult to clean because they are at the very back of the mouth. This can lead to tooth decay and gum disease. These problems can spread and affect other teeth.

If wisdom teeth are extracted when they are a problem, the treatment will be a lot more difficult. Not sure if your wisdom teeth should be pulled? Then make an appointment. Together we will see if treatment is necessary.
