Trauma or accidents

Broken tooth

A blow or accident can result in a tooth fracture. Has a piece of your tooth broken off? Then go to your dentist as soon as possible and take the broken part with you. We can easily repair small fractures or cracks by replacing the broken part or with composite filling. In the case of large fractures, it may be necessary to protect the nerve first and to place an emergency filling. The blow can have a a result that the nerve dies and nerve treatment may also be necessary. If the fracture is too large and goes as deep as the root of the tooth, in many cases the tooth cannot be saved.

Knocked Out or Lost Tooth (Permanent Tooth)

If a tooth has fallen out or been knocked out, it can often be saved if it is replaced in the mouth as soon as possible.

What should you do?

  • Find the tooth.
  • Grab the tooth by the crown part (the part you normally see in the mouth)
  • Clean the tooth with milk or lick and suck it clean (do not use cleaning materials!).
  • Try to put the tooth back. If that doesn't work, keep it under your tongue in your mouth.
  • If you don't want to keep the tooth in your mouth, put it in a cup of milk.
  • A baby tooth can never be replaced, this can lead to damage to the new one.
