Root Canal Treatments

Every tooth or molar has one or more roots, hidden under the gums. Why is root canal treatment essential?

Root canal infections do not go away on their own. A painkiller or anti-inflammatory also have no effect. Once the tissue is inflamed it will not heal. The root canal treatment

During the root canal treatment, the dentist opens your tooth and removes all the infected dental tissue. He then cleans the canal with small files and cleans it with a disinfecting rinsing liquid. Then the canals are filled up. After the treatment, your dentist will seal your tooth or molar again with a root canal filling material and a standard filling on top. It might occur that a tooth proves to be so bad that it is better to replace it with a crown.

Pain during and after root canal treatment

During a root canal treatment, the tooth to be treated is well- anaesthetized. You will not feel anything during the process. Occasionally a nerve is so inflamed that you can still experience a slight pain during the treatment. Let us know on the spot.
